Diana Spencer
Diana Frances Spencer (1961-1997), known as Lady D, was the wife of Prince Charles from 1981 to 1996, from whom she divorced maintaining the title of Princess of Wales, but without the privileges associated with the status of Royal Highness, while remaining officially part of the royal family as the mother of the future King William (a fact that occurred for the first time in the history of the British royal family). Adored by the people for her charitable activities, she was also renamed the "sad princess" by the press.
