Anita Borg
American computer scientist, Anita Borg (1949-2003) developed Mecca, a web-based email communications system dedicated to communities. In 1987 she then founded Systers, a space for women computer scientists to exchange emails to discuss professionally and technically. She was also the founder of the Institute for Women and Technology.
